Whether as classic elliptical profiles, elegant and slimline needle louvre blades, futuristic “hi-tech-look” louvre blades, or timeless glass louvre blades, the Schüco Large Louvre Blade System represents the ideal means by which solar shading and façade design can be combined.

Active Schüco Large Louvre Blades ALB with concealed drive offer a flexible shading system with a high level of prefabrication. The wide choice of hollow louvre blades offers a number of convincing benefits including elegant design, the minimal façade gap and full rotation of the louvre blades.

The width of the elliptical aluminium louvre blade is 155 / 205 / 305 / 360 / 400 / 470 mm. The blades are sealed flush with side caps.

The louvre blade spacing in the configuration without overlapping is 160 / 210 / 260 / 310 / 365 / 405 / 475 / …. mm. If the distance is less than this (for configurations with overlapping louvre blades), it must be ensured that the louvre blades are not able to collide with one another.

The horizontal louvre blades and connecting rods are mounted and held using maintenance-free plastic liners in the structural mullions designed to connect to the Schüco façade system (see also enclosed system illustration). The louvre blades are installed individually.

The individual louvre blades are fully connected to one another by a set of rods and can be adjusted by hand to the recommended angle, to correspond with seasonal requirements.

The individual louvre blades are fully connected to one another by a set of rods and can be adjusted using the pre-set 230 V AC electric drives. The angle of the elliptical aluminium louvre blades can be freely adjusted between 0° and 110°. The drives must be fitted with motor brackets and concealed cable channels. The Schüco e-Sun control system for the drives is specified separately.

The individual louvre blades are fully connected to one another by a set of rods and can be adjusted using the pre-set 230 V AC electric drives. The installation can be fixed to the mullion/transom construction using point-fixed, system-specific anchor fixings.

The louvre blades must be fixed in the drive mullion on one side and in the sliding bearing mullion on the other side. The drive mullion must be designed with a face width of 60 mm. It accommodates the concealed drive components. The sliding bearing mullion must be designed with a face width of 60 mm and allow for expansion of +/- 8 mm of the louvre blades.
The drive motor can be installed either at the top or bottom in the drive mullion

Drive
The drive consists of a drive shaft, gearbox, coupling, flange adapter and motor, which are concealed in the drive mullion. The louvre blades must be fixed to the flange adapter on the drive side in such a way that a gap <= 11 mm is created between the drive mullion and louvre blade.
The drive must allow the louvre blade axis to be adjusted.
The louvre blade rotation speed is 336°/min.
The drive consists of a maintenance-free 230 V electric motor with fitted planetary gearing, comfort setting and temperature control. The top and bottom end positions can be set. The complete drive unit has VDE and CE marks and EMV radio suppression seal.
Control and shading
The individual louvre blades are connected to one another by a profile roller located in the drive mullion and can be aligned using the pre-set 230 V AC electric motors. The louvre blade rotation angle is 360°. Due to the end stop setting on the drive motor, the rotation angle can be freely set. The drives must be fitted with motor brackets and concealed cable channels.

Solar shading systems with active, manually / electrically adjustable, horizontal louvre blade blades made from perforated sheet aluminium.
The regulations and requirements of the local building authority must be observed in all designs.

Design features
The width of the pre-bent blade with round/square perforations is 360 mm, the thickness of the sheet metal is 2.5 mm. The louvre blade with square perforations has a free cross section of 11% with a hole width of 5 mm and spacing of 15 mm.

The distance between the louvre blades is 370 / …. mm. If the distance is less than this (for configurations with overlapping louvre blades), it must be ensured that the louvre blades are not able to collide with one another.

The permissible length of the carrier tube (with / without reinforcement) must be determined from the
system manufacturer’s design charts.

The louvre blades are mounted using blade supports with concealed drainage, which are pushed onto a carrier tube and fixed. The louvre blades are screwed / riveted to system-specific blade clips. The number of fixing points will depend on the dimensions of the sheet metal louvre blade.
