Building Skin Control (BSC)

One system for all units: comprehensive platform for the integration, control and monitoring of the mechatronic Schüco units

Schüco Building Skin Control (BSC) has an open interface for maximum variety. This means that it can be connected to open building management systems such as KNX or BACnet as well as smart home systems such as Amazon Alexa.

All Schüco mechatronic units and functions are commissioned and configured using the Automation Engineering Tool software.

Integrated sensor technology allows automated functions for maximum comfort, such as time-controlled window ventilation or energy-saving night-time cooling.

The innovative technology opens up new levels of application freedom. With Schüco BSC, Schüco windows and sliding systems can be operated easily by means of voice command without having to use a smartphone or button. For example: “Alexa, ventilate the living room.”

The new Schüco dashboard offers an individual overview of all Schüco BSC systems installed in projects in one web interface. The spectrum ranges from adjustable maintenance cycles for each project, group or unit, through to automatic notifications on pending maintenance or events. All units can be assigned to buildings, floors and rooms, allowing them to be localised easily and quickly if there is an event or maintenance is required.

TENDER SPECIFICATIONS

PREVIEW SPECIFICATION

Platform for networking the different units of the building envelope with one another.
Buttons and sensors can be connected by means of a control component and additional components. The system has interfaces to KNX, BACnet and IP. It is possible to access the system remotely via the web interface – following a security prompt on the control component. An associated app can be used to control all units from a mobile device as well as monitor their status.
The entire system is configured by means of the corresponding commissioning software. Unit-specific settings can be made, and buttons, sensors and automatic functions (e.g. night-time cooling) can be set.

Automation Manager
Required in order to intelligently control up to 30 units e.g. Schüco TipTronic Simply Smart windows or Schüco ASE 60/80 TipTronic sliding units.

Functions
Intelligent central control unit which evaluates and regulates Schüco units e.g. TipTronic SimplySmart, sensors and control units. The Schüco units communicate via the Schüco unit bus.

The inputs and outputs on the Automation Manager are pre-configured but can be changed. Sensors and buttons/switches can be connected directly. The default input for the wind & rain sensor ensures that the units are closed by means of a notification. The inputs for buttons/switches provide pre-configured group functions. The display on the Automation Manager or the Schüco Automation Engineering Tool software can be used to freely configure the inputs and outputs as well as view event lists, among other things.

The following options are available for using the Schüco Automation Engineering Tool software on a computer:
– Direct connection via the integrated mini USB interface on the Automation Manager
– By means of WiFi via the IP gateway
– Remote support by means of internet access via the IP gateway
Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or higher must be installed in order to use the software.

Optional add-ons in the top hat rail design can be connected to the Automation Manager. The add-ons communicate via the Schüco device bus. The add-ons make it possible to use additional buttons / switches / sensors or to communicate with building management systems. The electrical connection between the Automation Manager and add-ons is made by means of a bus connector in the mounting rail.

The integrated display can be used to create simple links between operating panels and units, so that fast initial commissioning is possible without a PC too.

Maximum cable length of the unit bus is 500 metres when laid in a line.
